UtahBirthCenter.com is a free directory that helps Utah families find birth centers and midwives. This page explains what we collect, why, and who else sees it. We have tried to write it in plain English rather than legal boilerplate.
The short version
- If you fill in our inquiry form, we pass your details to birth centers so they can contact you. That is the entire point of the form, and it is how this site earns money.
- We do not sell your information to data brokers, advertisers, or anyone outside that referral.
- We use Google Analytics to count visits. We do not run advertising trackers.
- You can ask us to delete your information at any time and we will.
Who we are
UtahBirthCenter.com is operated by Obundance LLC. We are an independent directory. We are not a medical provider, not a birth center, and not affiliated with any government program. Nothing on this site is medical advice.
What we collect
When you use the family inquiry form, we collect your name, email address, phone number if you give one, your due date or timeframe, and whatever you write in the message box. People often include their county and their insurance in that box, so it may contain health-related information. Only share what you are comfortable sharing.
When a practice uses the listing form, we collect the business details submitted, including a contact name, email address, phone number, locations, services, and payment policies.
Automatically, when anyone visits, our web host records standard server information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you viewed. Google Analytics records similar visit information.
Who we share it with, and this is the important part
When you submit the family inquiry form, we may share what you sent with one or more licensed Utah birth centers or midwifery practices so they can respond to you. Those practices become independent controllers of that information and handle it under their own privacy policies, which we do not control.
Some of those practices pay us a fee when we refer an inquiry. We are telling you that plainly because you should know how a free directory pays for itself. It does not change which practices we show you, and we do not charge families anything.
Beyond that, we share personal information only with the service providers who help us run the site, such as our web host and our email delivery provider, and only where the law requires it.
What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We do not run retargeting pixels. We do not add you to a marketing list because you used the inquiry form.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies to measure visits and understand which pages are useful. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on, or block cookies in your browser settings. WordPress may also set functional cookies, for example if you are a logged-in administrator.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiry submissions while they are useful for connecting you with a practice and for our own records, and no longer than three years unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Analytics data follows Google’s standard retention settings.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Utah residents have these rights under the Utah Consumer Privacy Act, and we extend the same treatment to everyone regardless of where they live. Use the contact form and tell us what you want done. We do not charge for this and we will not treat you differently for asking.
If a birth center has already received your details, you will need to contact that practice directly to have their copy removed, since it is theirs at that point.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection and form submissions are protected against automated abuse. No website can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
Contact us
Questions about anything on this page, or a request about your information, go through our contact form. We do not publish an email address here, because published addresses get harvested by spam bots.
